Genres of music are established as much by tradition and presentation as by the actual music. Some functions, like George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, are claimed by the two jazz and classical music, even though Gershwin's Porgy and Bess and Leonard Bernstein's West Facet Tale are claimed by equally opera along with the Broadway musical tradition.
